Draculacon III happening next weekend May 21, 2011

I thought I would post about this since it's a unique event that may appeal to some of my readers.

I'll be honest I've never attended this event but I'd heard of some of the interesting events that take place and see some of the unique cars and costumes involved in this event. It's not an event for everyone but it's definitely different.

Draculacon III is taking place next weekend May 21, 2011 from 1 pm to midnight in Windber, PA.  This event is perfect for the Dracula fans, ghost chasers, haunted house fans, and more.  Each year they change it up and bring in authors, ghost hunters, occult experts, movie stars from creepy movies, speakers, and bands that fit the theme.  Some people really get into this and you see creepy cars and costumes.

This years line up includes:

--Kyra Schon who was a child actress in the 1968 version of Night of the Living Dead.  She'll be speaking and hanging out at the Grand Midway Hotel in Windber (which is said to be haunted) and having a question and answer session after she speaks.  Last year they had the actor who played the original Eddy Munster.

--Rosemary Ellen Guiley is an expert on the paranormal and supernatural.  She has written many books on the subject and her books have been translated into 14 different languages.

--Adam Blai is a religious demonologist.  He works with the Roman Catholic Church and will be speaking at this event.

There are also several other authors that will be present and speaking.

Also included in the line up is a bunch of musical groups that includes: Bridge City Bombshells, Cadillac Creeps, and more.

I found this website which has more details.  You can also purchase tickets for the event on the site:  http://www.thecemetery.net/Dcon/Draculacon2011.html

Review: Valentine Smiley Cookies

I was lucky enough to grow up with an Eat n' Park restaurant only about a 5 minute drive away from my house.
I'm born and raised in Pennsylvania.  Eat n' Park restaurants originated as one restaurant in Pittsburgh, PA.  Now you can find them all over PA and several other states.  Opened 24 hours a day, it was great to go for breakfast early for their great buffet.  As a teenage we used to love to go late at night.

One thing that stands out is the bakery that makes fresh baked items all the time.  You are greeted with the fresh frosted faces of the Smiley Cookies.  Even the kids' meals come with a Smiley Cookie. The kids always wanted to pick what color Smiley Cookie they wanted.

I have relatives that have moved out of state.  When I saw the our sweet little Smiley Cookies now have their own website and can be shipped all over the US, I thought about sending some to my extended family.

Smiley Cookies come in several shapes and colors.  I got to review the Valentine Smiley Cookies. These Valentines Day Cookies would be a cute and sweet treat to send off to your grandkids, a friend in need of some cheer, or just because.

I say review, it's more like eat them again and remind myself why I crave them sometimes.  They are simply frosted heart cookies.  Just sugar cookies with icing and a smile.  There's just something about them that are so tasty.  Just the right amount of icing, a nice sized cookie, baked to perfection, that cute smiled just looking at you as if to say "oh yea, you're going to enjoy me!"

The kids enjoyed them too.

These generous sized cookies are so cute and so tasty.  Try them once and you'll understand where I'm coming from on these. They also have Steelers Smiley Cookies for all your Pittsburgh fans.  Send a nice Cookie Gift Basket out for a birthday or congratulatory gift.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. Help a friend get funding for her town

I have a friend who asked me to please pass this message on.  She lives in the little town of Nanty Glo, PA.  Her town was submitted to http://www.refresheverything.com/search/?q=nanty+glo  Pepsi is providing free money to people to start projects, fix up towns, etc.  Nanty Glo isn't doing too bad.  The last I checked they were number 32 in their funding category.  Unfortunately, they need to be in the top 10 to get the free money from Pepsi.

It only takes a minute.  You need to sign in to Pepsi with either your Pepsi account or Facebook account.  If you don't have either one it is free to sign up.

Pepsi Refresheverything, Help little Nanty Glo, PA

Thanks in advance to anyone that takes a minute to do this.  Nanty Glo wants to use the money to fix up their parks and recreation area.  These are public areas that many people use, especially with the upcoming season.  You can vote once daily.
