Make-up tutorial!

My giveaway closed yesterday so it's time to announce the winner! Big thanks to everyone who entered in.

I used random.org number generator to pick up the lucky number.

It's number 71 and after long counting I'm happy to tell you the winner who is..
Geeky Glamorous !

Congratulations! I'll contact you after having finished this entry.

Well, I promised in a video in giveaway entry that there would be two other special things because of 2,000 followers reached. Yes I know, I'm so so late!!! But this time I'm going to post you my make-up tutorial which has been requested so many times.

Why is this so late? Because I took 4 times video of my make-up routine but they all failed. I was really pissed off! Video was always too dark, blurry, taken from too far so you could see nothing of what I was doing or it was from really bad angle. So I gave up with video and just took photos. It was much easier although it took more time. But seriously how do you people do make-up tutorial videos?!? It was so damn difficult.

Anyaway, here it is niow finally!
Zhi Zhi's everyday gyaru make-up tutorial
This will be total image heavy, be prepared.

How to turn Beast to Beauty hahah, starting from this. Clean face after morning skin care routine. I know, I look super ugly XD My face is unsymmetric, I have huge potato-like nose and combination of trimmed eyebrows and circle lenses makes me look like some sick alien. And having my hair like that.. Hahah I hope you didn't faint yet.

At least my skin is in good condition. As a make-up base I use SKIN97 Super+ Triple Functions BB cream. One of my favourite products ever. It makes skin look even more flawless and porcelain doll-like.

Then I add some MAYBELLINE's Pure.Foundation mineral loose powder foundation in shade 02 "Rose Ivory". It's pretty good but nothing special to be praised. I picked it up just because it was in discount sale lol XD

And then face contouring which is funny in my opinion. I marked areas which should be contoured: jaw lines and forehead. Contouring makes your face appear smaller and thinner. Make-up also looks more neat and natural. Forehead contouring makes your forehead appear smaller. Actually forehead contouring is useless to me as my bangs always cover my forehead but oh well.. I still do it haha. Don't know why.

I apply RIMMEL Natural Bronzer powder with a big brush to contour my face. Bronzers aren't usually recommended for contouring as they usually have some shimmer so it doesn't look good like that. Luckily my bronzer is very matte color so I can use it as contourer. But I would recommend to get some dark shaded powder or a product especially meant for contouring.

Like this. Remeber to blend it well!

Cosmagic x Kumiko Funyama blush in shade pink 101 for cheeks. I marked the colors with letters so you can understand a blush map above better.

So that's how I apply this blush. In gyaru make-up blush is applied in different way than usually. Just put a lot of bright color on your cheeks! And to understand this blush map: apply shade A on area rounded with red color, shade B on yellow area and shade C on violet area. You got it?

Close up how it should look like. Remeber to blend well in here, too! I love really bright colored pink blushes.

Time to move till eye make-up. Eyeshadow is applied first. Here's products I use for eyeshadow applying.

Eyeshadow A: MAYBELLINE's 605 Beige Nude
Eyeshadow B & C: MAYBELLINE's palette 05 Glamour Browns (there were two other lighter shades before but they ran out already)

Two different size brushes. (+ one in palette)

First apply eyeshadow A like this with a brush which is in palette. It's eyeshadow base and kind of eye highlighter.

Apply eyeshadow B with brush 1 in outer conner of eye and blend it towards inner conner.

Eyeshadow C with brush 2 in very outer conner and to give darked shadow for eye make up. Blend, blend, blend!

Acutally it's not necessary to have especially those eyeshadows, any 3 different shades of beige/white and brown can be used. I would like to try other colors than browns, too. Because I jsut use brown everyday T.T

Finally apply eyeshadow C with brush 2 like this on lower lid.

Starting to resemble of a human being, not so alien anymore kekek~ I use RIMMEL Exaggerate liquid eye liner on eye lid. It has been my credit product for years already. Would like to try out gel eyeliner, tho.

Close up to eyeliner. Draw a wing of about 2-3 cm in outer conner of eye. It's important to draw it straight, don't curve it up or down!

Apply pencil eye liner on bottom lid. I used Dermosil's Devoted black eye pencil. It makes really smooth mark and there's also a brush to blend. Start drawing from the middle of eye and make it bolder when coming towards outer conner. Leave a couple of millimetres empty in outer conner. Blend and add eye pencil also on water line under iris (or circle lense hoho!) Don't attach it to liquid eye liner line, leave there like one mm.

Mascara on upper lashes but do not apply on lower lashes! My favourite mascara is MAYBELLINE Lash Stiletto. Although I use mascara just to blend my own lashes with false ones, I still prefer mascaras which gives your lashes extra length.

And then false lashes which are one of the main point in my make-up. False lashes really make gyaru look completed. I have been using Dolly Wink no.1 "Dolly Sweet" already for a long time. But I got feeling they aren't showy enough for me and I would like to try out some other lashes. I solved the problem temporarily. I attached twopair of Dolly Wink lashes together! One on left is old one as you can see from it's condition and it's width is cut shorter. One on right is almost new. I attached them together from outer side.

Rip old glue remains with tweezers. Apply eyelash glue. Ignore my ugly bitten nails ehehe T.T I haven't had sculpture nails for weeks already. I did new ones today, though!

Glue I use is LashGrip Eyelash Adhesive and I think it's the best eyelash glue I have ever. Here you can see how big difference false eyelashes make!

Apply eyelashes on with help of tweezers. First attach the inner conner. Leave there a couple of centimetres from eye corner. Attach the middle part and then finally outer part according to your eye lining. Try to apply lashes as upwards as possible to make them show better.

Aasdahsdjshf. This language is just so bad. It's 11:30PM and I'm super tired. I can not think properly and can't create any sentences that would make sense bohoo. But I must finish doing this tonight, I must I must I must! T_T I won't give up. Well, I'm sorry for unreadable language.

Then bottom lashes. Those are Dolly Wink no.5 "Real Nude". Favourite bottom lashes! I think this style suits me best, not even a bit fed up with those! I should get new package of those as my current ones are very worn-out already. As you see, some individual lashes have loosened.

Apply lower lashes with tweezers too. The angle of this photo is not the best to show this but: apply inner conner of lash very close your lash line on where is your iris. When your eye line curves little bit upper, still attach lashes in straight line. Then apply lashes to curve little bit up, too, somehow in the middle of eye lining. Aaaaargh! I can't describe it in English words, I think none of you understood what I previously said but uhm... look the picture.

Eyelash glue seems not to be fully dried in this picture, haha.

The biggest part is over: eye make-up done.

Draw eyebrows with LUMENE Arctic Definition mineral eyebrow pencil, shade 3 "Blond".

This is the eyebrow shape I aspire to. I trim my own eyebrows shorter so it's easier to make this look, but don't shave them totally!

And this is also very important point in my make-up: nose contouring! I have always hated my nose and its shape so much. Not much can be done for it (somebody wants to sponsor me a nose job?!? XD) but at least we can rely on magic of make-up. I always feel very un-neat if I don't have nose contouring. Now when it's so hot weather, my contouring usually melts away quickly, bohoo.

Highlight your nose. I use CHANEL eyeshadow 52 beige as highligher XD Should get better one. Wow I'm so talented on drawing dashed line with paint brush. Or not. But you got it, right?

I know this sounds and looks really crazy but I contour my nose with eyebrow pencil. Same one I drew my eyebrows. But this really works best for my nose in my opinion! Just draw lines with pencil where you would like to your nose line go.

Hohohoo my nose looks so funny here. Blend well with finger. Apply more until you're satisfied with it. You can also apply more highlighter if it was scrambled.

And tadaah! Now I can cheat people that my nose was really smaller and thinnier. I think that nose contouring can make sooo big difference! Looks so much better now.

And final step: lip make-up. It's not that important and I don't even do it every time. But if I do, here's how: moisture lips and apply lip base. You can use lip concealer or be a n00b like me and use just some random foundation. Wtf is with that all hair aroung my mouth ahahah what the hell.

Nude lipstick! Mine is LUMENE's 96 "Sandy Beach". It moistures lips well, too!

And finally add some glow with MAYBELLINE colorsensational lip gloss 130 "Exquisite Pink".

Finally done!!! It takes me +30 minutes to do my make-up. I wear this make-up everyday. Too lazy (or busy?) to try anything else but well why should I? I think this make-up style suits me and my face best. In this picture I still look a bit creepy as I'm having hair like that. But when hair is done, make-up also looks better. This photo is also taken in different lightning than other photos for this tutorial. I didn't take any face shots that day after doing my hair.

Yepyep~ I actually finished doing this! I'm so proud of myself. But not so proud of all those writing mistakes. Try to bear. I think this is the longest post I have made for a while (or maybe ever!) and my fingers are cramping so bad.

Thanks everyone who looked at this and I hope this really helped those who have been asking make-up tutorial. I tried to do my best! Feel free to ask more questions, I try to answer as well as I can.

Look forward to the last special entry!!!

new curling iron

I did a video about it! So here's review for Grande Pink iron and also at the same time some kind of hair curling tutorial. Hope you enjoy and it helps you despite of my bad English and accent =___= *shame* I haven't really spoke English for a long time, I just always read and write it. My pronunciation really needs more practice. Now I have to use more English in my job so hopefully it will improve (^___^)

But well, back to the topic.

Here's some more info about the iron I didn't tell in a video:

♥ Tourmaline/ceramuc barrel easily creates silky, smooth curls
♥ Tourmaline is a natural source of negative ions and far infrared heat
♥ Negative ions eliminate frizz and close the cuticle to create smooth, shiny hair
♥ Far infrared heat penetrates hair from within, resulting in faster styling with less damage
♥ Fast heat, accurate heat with instant heat recovery
♥ Slim rubberized handle
♥ One iron for all hair types: from fragile, thin hair to wavy thick hair
♥ Cut your hair curling time in half thanks to high concentration of negative ions
♥ Ultra-light weight: the body is made of light-weight high-strength composite materials that are commonly used in aerospace industry

(text from warranty & safety card)

Isn't it so cute? ♥

I took a few photos of my hair after doing a video. In the video, light comes from behind and especially the left side of my hair looks kinda flat. But here you can see better how it looked! ^-^

My outfit for the first day in work!

Jumpsuit New Yorker
Cardigan H&M
Flats H&M
Bag Lindex

So now I'm working as a shop staff/salesperson in a clothing store Fiorella. I still can't believe that I was so lucky and was picked for this job! There's no words to tell how happy I am now XD Working days have been really nice so far although I still have much to learn ^o^

Tackling spring/summer makeup trends: Yellow eyeshadow

Like my last post in this series about coral lips, this post is focusing on a spring/summer trend that I'm trying to successfully pull off.  And in the process, I can hopefully share with you an idea for how to do it yourself!
In this post, I tried to recreate the yellow eyeshadow trend two different ways.  The first is a more toned down version, and the second is something very out of the ordinary for me- it's bright!

(I'm not totally in love with this first one now that I post this, haha.  The brown kind of makes it look like... a bumble bee?  Now I know for next time, ha!)

Look one: paired with browns

Products used:
-Almay Bright Eyes eye base+concealer
-NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk (matte white base)
-Golden yellow shimmery eyeshadow pigment (Sample I got from a giveaway last year)
-Coastal Scents 88 palette (matte cream, bright yellow, light yellow, chocolate brown, medium bronze)
-NYX Ultimate Pearl eyeshadow in White Pearl (shimmery white)
-Covergirl Liquiline Blast eyeliner in Brown Blaze
-L'Oreal Double Extend Illuminator mascara for green eyes

First I primed my eyes and applied a matte white base so the colors would show up better.  Then, I applied a shimmery golden yellow pigment eyeshadow all over my lid.  I blended it into the crease and then applied a satin pale yellow shade in the crease.  I highlighted my brow bone with a matte cream shade, topped with a shimmery white shade that I also put in my inner corner to brighten.  I did the pale yellow shade along my lower lash line as well.  I followed with a chocolate brown shade (applied with my ELF definer brush-any sharp angled brush would also work) in the very outer corner, creating a precise line along the outer edge and crease areas.  I blended this slightly into the yellow using a bronze shade.  Then, I lined the very outer edges of my eyes creating a slight wing using a dark brown eyeliner. To finish, I curled my lashes and applied a black mascara.

Look two: paired with teals

Products used:
-Almay Bright Eyes eye base
-NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
-Golden yellow shimmery pigment eyeshadow (same as look #1)
-Coastal scents 88 matte palette (light yellow, same as look #1)
-Physicians Formula Shimmery Strips eyeshadow for green eyes- Pop! collection (bright teal)
-Wet 'n' Wild ColorIcon eyeshadow palette in Pride (shimmery medium teal)
-Wet 'n' Wild ColorIcon eyeshadow palette in Vanity (shimmery gold, bronze, and matte cream)
-NYX Ultra Pearl eyeshadow in White Pearl (shimmery white)
-Victoria's Secret eyeliner in Dark Brown
-L'Oreal Double Extend Illuminator mascara for green eyes

First, apply your eyeshadow primer all over your eye area.  Follow with a matte white base all over the lid area and along lower lash line.  Apply a bright golden yellow eyeshadow to the lid, stopping about 1/4 of the way from the outer corner.  Blend a pale lighter yellow shade above the previous yellow, blending into the crease, and on the inner 1/4 of the lid.  Tape off the outside of your eye so the outer eyeshadow colors create a sharp line.  Take a bright teal shade and pack it on the outer 1/4 of the lid, creating a sharp line where it meets the yellow.  Blend this out using a shimmery medium teal shade above the crease and to blur the lines.  Apply a shimmery white eyeshadow to inner corners.  Then, apply a matte cream eyeshadow to the brow bone.  Take the golden yellow, shimmery gold, and bronze shades underneath the lower lash line, applying lightest to darkest.  Follow with a deep brown or bronze eyeliner on the outer corners of top and bottom lash lines, and mascara.

Adding the teal to this look was a big leap for me- like corals, teals are another color family I'm terrified of.  I actually couldn't think of a better color to pair the yellow with that would give enough contrast, though.  I like how it turned out for a bright, summery look!
I hope the explanation helps a little.  I only included that this time because the looks were a little more involved than most looks I do.

Thanks so much for reading, and I really appreciate the feedback!  It's great to know what you guys want to see here! :)

EOTD: Magenta and teal

I've been doing this same technique with all my eye looks this last weekend and I really like it!  I've just used different colors.  I have two more variations that I'll show in a separate post, but for now, this is the one I did today.

(Excuse the state of my eyebrows; they're terrible, I'm sorry!)

Products used:
-Almay Bright Eyes eye base+concealer
-NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
-Coastal Scents 88 Matte eyeshadow palette (medium magenta, light lilac, cool taupe, matte cream)
-Revlon Matte eyeshadow in Tempting Teal (deep matte teal green)
-ELF Mineral eyeshadow in Earthy (shimmery medium sage green)
-MAC Eye Kohl in I Get No Kick (shimmery champagne eyeliner)
-Victoria's Secret eyeliner in Dark Brown
-L'Oreal Double Extend Illuminator mascara

First, prime your eye area and apply a matte white base for the eyeshadows.  Apply a magenta eyeshadow to the lid area, stopping just short of the inner and outer corners.  Blend this out using a lighter lilac shade in the inner corners and throughout the crease.  Tape off the outer edge of your eyes.  Place a deep matte teal or green shade on the outer corner of your lid, creating a slight "outer v" shape using the tape as a guide.  Then, use a crease brush to apply a shimmery medium sage green shade to the outer part of your crease, lightly blending the magenta and teal together.  I had to go back over the magenta and teal again after this part.  Apply a matte cream highlight shade to your browbone and inner corners.  Remove the tape from your outer eyes.  Next, line your waterline and inner corners with a shimmery champagne colored eyeliner.  Take the same magenta you used for your lid and apply it lightly along the lower lash line, followed by a cool taupe shade in the outer corners (to add more depth- I also think this makes the whole look more flattering!).  Line the outer half of your upper and lower lash line with a deep brown or bronze eyeliner, creating a wing, following the shape you created with the eyeshadow using the tape.  Finish with black mascara and you're done!

I hope the explanation is ok!  Temptalia explains her steps in her EOTDs and I know it always helps me.

I'm also thinking of placing an order for some Fyrinnae eyeshadows- I'm loving the brighter eyeshadow colors for summer, and I've heard such great things about these indie makeup brands.  Do you guys have any recommendations for Fyrinnae, or another brand you love?
Hope you guys have a great Tuesday!

Big, Bouncy Curls for hard to curl hair... and another apology :)

Hello again girls,

I don't even know how my motivation got to this crazy low-point. No idea. I kept telling myself I would update my blog, but...

To be fair, my university has started back up again. I'm in my final semester of my undergrad, so life is a little bit crazy! So I'm sorry that I've been so slack, but I think my reasons are valid :) haha

I did have time to film a hair tutorial for you though! I've had SO many questions about my hair (haircare routine coming soon-ish!) and how to keep curls in. As I've mentioned before, my hair hates me. So once I figured out how to make curls stay, well... it was magical :)

♡ZHIZHI's hair tutorial⌒♡+

First of all go check out these amazing giveaways

Emy's super cute giveaway HERE (o´∀`o)

Beverly's aka Jae's great giveaway HERE \(^○^)人(^○^)/

I can't believe it's Christmas Eve tomorrow! And I hardly can wait for it (。_∀_。)キャハ♡ I already want to open all presents and stuff Although I'm not gonna get so many presents.. My mom ordered for me one present from UK and I just can't undestand why shipping inside Europe takes so fucking long!!!!! p(●`□´●)q So I won't get that present until X'mas My mom took the quickest shipping method which said the item would arrive in 1-5 business days. Now it has already took over 10 days Because of the X'mas, post is late, of course. But I'm still very pissed off! o(*>д<)o One time I ordered items from Sweden and it took about a month from the packet to arrive!!! ヽ(#`Д´)ノ In that time I could had walked to Sweden to pick my items and walk back many times. When I order something from Japan, Hong Kong or any Asian country, my package always arrives just in few days! Aaaarhrgrgghhgh!!!!!!¤#%/¤&#¤"!"#¤#"#"#¤ (*≧□≦*) Well, even though I'm not gonna get my X'mas present, I want to give a little X'mas present for my readers Many people have requested for hair tutorial, so here it is! (*・▽・*)

So do you want to get this hair style? Here I'm going to show how I usually do and curl my hair ヽ(*’∀’*)/ This style might be called "dolly curl style" or "mix style" Actually this style is very simple to do and it takes me 10 to 15 minutes to do my hair. But the time which this style takes depends on your hair length and also how skillfull and quick you are to use curling iron. I apologize in advance that I'm not very good at making tutorials, explaining and my photos have bad quality and lightning! (o*。_。)o But I hope this is still going to help somebody

Here are supplies and products you need for this hair Hair products I used are:
Schwarzkopf got2b 2 sexy hair spray, Schwarzkopf got2b smoothing lotion and Philips Salon Multistylist curler. You need hair brush and comb as well (*・∀<*)

How my hair looks on the start I washed my hair at the morning and let them dry. As you can see my hair is naturally a bit wavy. So first brush your hair.。*(〃´∀`)

Take some product which protects your hair from heat and makes your hairstyle to stay. Rub all over your hair

Then curling part which takes most of the time. Very important in this hair style is that you take first part of your hair on top and curl it away from your face!!!

Then take piece of hair under the curled part

And curl it towards your face!!! So this is the secret for "mix style" (◎>∀<◎) You curl your hair both away and towards your face. Often people curl all their hair to same direction. Then hair might easily go flat or all hair gathers in one roll. Mixing curling style makes hair to look more voluminous

Always separate your hair in two parts. Hair on the top curled with different style and hair under with different style! (●>ω<●)

So now this hair on top you curl towards your face! And hair under away from your face! Did you get it? (´∀`)

And then again next part: top hair away from face and... so on! Curl your whole head and repeat same on other side of your head. It's not so serious to follow the rule when you are curling your hair in the back. Just curl parts of your hair by turns towards your face and away from your face etc...☆^(o≧∀≦)o

So when all of your hair is curled, fix if there's any hair which had losen it's shape already.

Another secret for super volume curls!!! (○^▽^○) Lift your hair up and spray your curls from below! Like in the picture.

Untangle hair with care and let your hand go through curls. Then your hair looks more natural Not just the shape of curling iron with tons of hair spray. Yuck!

Now your curls have much volume (o*∩3<*)☆ Sorry for glazed face XD But then it's time to add volume also on the top of your hair!

Tease roots with hair comb. You can also tease curls gently (●^U^●)

Put some hair spray on roots and still all over your hair! o(^∀^*)o

And you are ready to go! Ah I'm still sorry if this tutorial was unclear but feel free to ask more questions if you have any ^o^

Couple of self shots in slightly better lightning +(*´∀`)b°

Thank you for watching my hair tutorial! I tried to do my best ヽ(*´∀`)ノ゚
Many have also requested for make-up tutorial (o^∇^o) I might do it later when I get better camera

Tung's cousin just released her first debut single. Listen to it! o(^◇^)o Tam really did great job with her song and music video
