NOTD: Nude Shimmer

This is actually my "Nail of the Week", as I've been wearing it since Tuesday (Well the shimmer came Friday, but you get the idea).
It is a combination of Wet 'n' Wild Private Viewing and Pure Ice Nasty Girl; I love it!

I picked up Private Viewing (left) after Maquilagem Masstige gave it such a good review.  It looked like my perfect "mannequin hand" shade, so I decided I had to have it.  Wouldn't you know, it matches my skin almost perfectly!  Normally I hate nude polishes but this one was a pleasant surprise.  Anyway, Maquilagem Masstige was right about the lasting power- I'm going on 6 days of wear, and no chips, just slight tip wear.  You can see in these pictures how great it still looks.

I added the Pure Ice in Nasty Girl on Friday.  Nasty Girl is a light, super sheer pink shimmer.  It gives off hardly any color, mainly just shimmer, which I love.  It's a great topper to my favorite nail polishes.  I had the idea on Friday to add it to my manicure of Private Viewing.

It makes the nude polish more exciting for me.  (PS: see how even after 6 days there are no chips?  And I'm not super cautious when it comes to maintaining my manicures, either.)

Anyway, both of these cost $1.99- Pure Ice is sold at Walmart only (I think?).

EOTD: Teal and Gold

Hey everyone!  Happy almost Memorial Day.  I have to work all day tomorrow so it doesn't really feel like a holiday weekend to me, but that's ok!  It's finally feeling like summer here in the midwest, and I'm so excited to finally be bringing out more fun colors.  My "colors of the summer" are definitely going to be blues and turquoises, which is strange for me.  I've always, always been a true purple eyeshadow fan. I'm glad to finally be breaking out of my normal routine, though!

Anyway, this is a look I did a few days ago.  It started my current obsession: lining my lower waterline!  I did this when I first started using makeup, and then I stopped maybe 2-3 years ago because I thought I couldn't pull it off/it made my eyes look funny.  Well, the last week or so I've just fallen in love with it all over again.  :)

What I Used:

-Almay Bright Eyes eye base (all over lid, browbone, and underneath eye)

-MAC Dazzlelight eyeshadow (all over lid and browbone)

-NYC Waterproof eyeliner in Teal (upper lashline)

-Clinique Quickliner for eyes in Roast Coffee (lower waterline)

-ELF Eyeliner/Eyeshadow stick in Pearl/Glow (I used the Glow part- the eyeshadow- to highlight just under my eyebrows, the inner corners of my eyes, and underneath my lower lash line)

-Rimmel Glam Eyes mascara in Black

I love the pop of teal.  I used to think teal didn't look good with my eye color, but I think this deepened shade brings out more of the blue in them.

Oh, and before I go, I have a question.  :)

What are some of the Sweetest Things your spouse/SO has said to you lately?

This is a little off topic but I was thinking about this today.  Or, I guess thinking about what my husband said to me. I needed to borrow his SUV yesterday to pick up a bike for one of my kids.  My car doesn't have much room.  He reluctantly let me borrow it and he took my car to work.  He came home from work last night.  He said "it was kind of refreshing driving your car to work today, would you mind if I took it tomorrow?"  I was a little shocked by the request since he was reluctant to trade for the day in the first place.  (Also he has a fairly new suv with all the bells and whistles and my car is old and has no bells and whistles).  I said "Why?" He didnt' want to answer me at first so I just told him "I don't care go ahead".  He sat there for a minute and said "I liked taking your car it smells like you.  I like that especially when I'm driving to work"

I was not expecting that answer but it made me happy.  So now your turn, What is the last sweet thing your spouse/significant other said to you?  This is meant to be fun and maybe even get us thinking about our partners.  And please nothing to graphic lol.  :-)

I became a member of booksneeze.com.  I had received my first book and reviewed it.  If you read my blog you know that I'm always looking for a way to get something for free or at a bargain price.  I don't mind if I have to work for it a little bit. You don't have to be a blogger to be involved in this one.  I did this one for a while and received many very good mainstream books from them.  You can choose your genres that you're interested in.  I reviewed books like:  Football Hero by Tom Green (very good even if you're not into football, i think I cried once or twice), Ever by Gail Carson Levine, Seeker #1: The Quest Begins by Erin Hunter and many others.  The message on the First look page says they are on Hiatus while they "create and even better book program"


As I find more I'll list them.  I'm also looking for main stream publishing companies that have blogger book review programs that aren't necessarily christian books.

Sain päähäni, että "nyt mä sen teen!" ja niin tein.


Ekaksi kauhistuin, kun näytän taas ihan pikkutytöltä. Sitten kyllä kadutti.


Mut sit hetken päästä totuinkin jo, eikä nää ollutkaan enää niin kauheet, oikeestaan aika kivat.


No, mitä mieltä ootte, tykkäättekö? ^-^ Suurin osa kuitenkin äänesti otsiksen puolesta.




Ennen ja jälkeen, kumpi parempi? Jos ei nyt katota hiusten pituutta vaan sitä otsista. Toisaalta mä kyllä ikävöin tota otsatukatonta mallia, koska nyt näytän taas kauheen nuorelta, mitä en ehkä halunnut. No mut on tää ihan jees, kivaa vaihtelua. Päätin muuten etten nyt ainakaan toistaiseksi värjää hiuksia, katotaan sitten myöhemmin.

fashion inspiration - Kumickey

Moi, oli vähän päivitystaukoa, kun en jaksanut enkä ehtinyt. Viime viikonloppunakaan en muistanut ottaa yhtään kuvia! Eikä kyllä oo mitään asukuviakaan nyt tarjolla, kun toi sää masentaa ja viime päivät oon vaan lukenut kokeisiin.

Oon nyt ollut 3 viikkoa ostolakossa, hyvä minä! Tosin viime viikonloppuna ostin kyllä kahdet alushousut, koska unohdin ottaa vaihtoalkkareita mukaan Helsinkiin :D Mut niitä ei lasketa, se oli oikea hätätapaus! Mulle pitäis kohta tulla kyllä yks vaatepaketti, jonka oon tilannut jo joskus yli kuukausi sitten. Ja ajattelin, muutenkin kohta laittaa tän ostolakon päätökseen.. Mut yritän nyt olla kesäloman alkuun asti tässä lakossa.

Niin, koska mulla ei nyt ole itsestäni mitään tarjottavaa, niin ajattelin tehdä tälläisen uuden tyyppisen postauksen eli fashion inspiration! Eli näissä kerron vähän ketkä henkilöt mua inspiroi tyylin suhteen ja välillä sit vaan random inspiroivia kuviakin.

Kumickey on siis mulle ihan ykkös idol tyylin sun muiden suhteen. Hän on siis Popteenin malli, mutta aiemmin ollut mallina myös Vanilla Girlissä (jota ei enää oo olemassa) sekä Eggissä. Ja ikää on 19, syntynyt siis 1991~



Monia ärsyttää Kumickey, koska se on aina Popteenin kannessa. Mua se ei ainakaan haittaa. Totta kai paras malli ansaitsee kuvan kannessa :D!



Tässä olis esimerkkejä ja lemppareitani Kumickeyn asuista randomissa aikajärjestyksessä. Tykkään niin paljon noista! Kumin tyyli on muuttunut kyllä aika paljon vuosien varrella, laitankin loppuun sit jotain vanhoja kuvia, oikeestaan ekoja lehdissä, hänestä~

Toisinaan Kumickeyn asut on myös hieman erikoisia, etten kyllä ihan jokaista hänen asuaan laittaisi päälleni :D

Toinen juttu mistä tykkään kans kauheesti Kumickeyssa on sen meikkityyli. Meikki on aika luonnollinen, mutta sit ripset on näyttävät. Just sellaisesta itekin tykkään. Itseasiassa Kumin meikkaustapa on ollut aika pitkään samanlainen, mutta vaihtelemalla ripsiä se saa ne näyttämään aina erilaisilta~








Tää onkin kai uusin kuva Kumickeyn meikistä.

Sitten niitä vanhempia kuvia, mitä lupailinkin jo aiemmin. Ekan kerran bongasin Kumickeyn Eggistä. Ja se oli ihastusta ensi silmäyksellä ;D


Haha aika hyvin huomaa näistä kuvista miten muoti on muuttunut. Otin muuten vaan kuvat tosta lehdestä, kun en jaksanut lähtee skannailemaan.


Heinäkuun 2008 Eggissä taisi siis olla Kumickeyn eka esiintyminen, jos en ihan väärässä oo. Tykäistyin hetin sen tuolloisen tyyliin, kaivelin jostain netistä Kumickeyn blogin ja oon seurannut siitä asti.


Huomaa myös miten Kumickey on laihtunut tosta.. Nykyäänhän se painaa jtn 37 kg..


Sitten Kumickeystä tuli kauheen suosittu sen jälkeen kun se siirtyi Popteeniin malliksi. En tosin ihmettele, ku noin kaunis on ja muutenkin. Ja hyvä, että siirty Popteeniin, se on paljon parempi ja laadukkaampi kuin joku Egg.


Ei näistä kyllä heti tunnistais Kumickeyksi, jos olis vaan nähnyt nykyisiä kuvia eikä ollenkaan näitä vanhoja.


Nääkin jostain vanhasta Eggistä, aww~ Jotenkin liikuttavia nää vanhat kuvat, melkein tulee tippaa linssiin 8')


Innostuin vähän liikaakin katselemaan näitä vanhoja kuvia, tästä ei ollut tarkoitus tulla mitään elämänkertaa.. No mut kuitenkin nää on Vanilla Girl elokuu 2008! Kumickey tuli Vanillaan smoihin aikoihin kuin Eggiin. Harmi, että Vanilla Girl lopetettiin, se oli niin kiva lehti ;_;
