B1G2 free plus free Q10 with every order!

Puritan's Pride is having their big buy-1-get-2-free sale! This is their best sale in my opinion, I don't think you'll ever find vitamins cheaper elsewhere! Their prices are already low, but at this sale you're getting 3 bottles for the price of one. Puritan's Pride is very high quality, I've been using them for years :) They also sell essential oils, skin care products, spices, coffees and herbal teas, and tons more - so check them out if you haven't before!

Right now, until this Saturday the 11th, they're giving away a free bottle of Q10 with any order! No minimum purchase or coupon code needed.

Ebates users also get 5% cash back! Shop away!

Long weekend :)

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a nice long weekend! I spent most of my weekend like this:

Okay, not really, because I am not a cute fluffy kitten with a spotty belly. Nor did I sleep as much as I would have liked, although it was more than I get on your average weekday. But I did get to relax, do some shopping, hit up a library book sale, and do a lot of reading.

I love library book sales, mostly because of the last day "stuff a bag" which is common, around here at least. On the last day of the sale, you're given a large shopping bag and you can fill it up with as many books as it can hold for a flat price (usually $5, sometimes as low as $3 or even free!)

Because of the many book sales I've attended since the start of summer (which would be four, if I'm not forgetting one), my bookshelves look like this:

And that's only one of three shelves! This time around, my mom and I got over 100 books for $10! Although they weren't all novels, in fact around 70 of them were children's picture books. We use them for crafting - making ATCs, greeting cards, envelopes, or whatever else we might find use for. Some of them are so cute, especially the retro ones. I found a bunch of inspirational mini-books from the 1960's and I just love the little drawings! I definitely won't be cutting some of them up!

Seriously, how cute is that!?

Quick Rite-Aid Trip

I had some coupons I was itching to use at Rite Aid. Unfortunately, the Rite Aids around me are all pretty small and don’t have a lot of stock, so I was unable to get much of what I was looking for - but I was still able to score a pretty great deal!

What I was most looking forward to was the Wet n Wild sale they have going on this week: buy one get one free. I never really thought much of W&W (sometimes cheap is too cheap?) until they started releasing natural items. Their talc-free Natural Blend (formerly Natural Wear) powder is now my favorite powder in the world, and I go through about one compact a month! So I was glad to have a chance to stock up.

On top of the B1G1 free sale, I had a $2 off $6 W&W coupon from the August Rite Aid Video Values website (where you watch short commercials and get coupons in return).

So I got:
  • 1 Natural Blend powder at $4.99 and got a second free
  • 1 nail polish at $1.99 and got a second free

Bringing my total to $6.98. I really just bought the nail polish as a filler to be able to use the coupon, because the .99c items (like their eyeliner pencils) wouldn’t quite make $6, so I went over a little.

After the coupon, the total was $4.98. So I basically got all those items for the price of one powder!

The Gain dish soap was also a freebie. There was a coupon in the Sunday paper for $1.00 off any Gain, and it was on sale for 89c this week, so I paid nothing!

Total price of everything: $15.45

Price paid: $4.98!

End-of-month Walgreen's trip

The August Walgreen's coupons expired Saturday, so I headed over for a last-minute shopping trip to use them up!

I wasn't very organized about it, and ended up getting some things I didn't need, and didn't get some things I'd intended to, but I think it turned out all right!

What I got:
  • Bubble mailers - $1.99, on sale for 39c (limit 3) 5.97 $1.17!
  • Pilot Frixion erasable pens - $3.99 on sale for $3.49 minus $2 in coupons: $1.49!
  • Uniball gel pens - $4.19 on sale for $2.49 minus $1.50 coupon: $0.99!
  • Burt's Bees Acne Solutions face wash - usually $9.99 on clearance for $4.99 minus $2.00 coupon $2.99!
  • [Not pictured] Walgreen's brand bleach 96 oz- not sure of usual price, on sale for $0.99, bought two $1.98
If I had paid for everything at regular price, it would have been over $24, but I spent a grand total of $8.62! Pretty boring stuff, I know, but all useful. I use the bubble mailers like crazy for mailing out books and other things I swap, and they're usually expensive! Both kinds of pens are super awesome, both brands are actually Japanese (did you know Pilot and Uniball were Japanese companies? I didn't until recently) and I had used the pens in Japan and loved them. And I donate the bleach to the animal shelter I volunteer at - it was number one last week on their most-needed list of supplies!

I think the Burt's Bees face wash was the best deal, since their stuff is pricey and rarely goes on sale. I don't know why it was on clearance (it was the one and only bottle) so I was pretty lucky! :)

Super cheap Target find!

I got lucky at Target today to find this Colgate Pro Clinical toothpaste on clearance from $2.99 to $1.48!

I think it was on clearance because of the box is a little beat up, it was right on the shelf with the rest of them, which weren't discounted. I have been hanging on to a $1 off manufacturers coupon for this, so I finally got to put it to good use - the toothpaste cost me only .48c!

Of course, I was so excited about getting the deal that I didn't check the ingredients until I got home. I'm disappointed to see it includes sucralose as a sweetener. I avoid artificial sweeteners in my food, and don't like the current trend of adding it to other products as well... is it really necessary? It's in the mouthwash I use too. I guess it's not as bad as ingesting it, but still...
