As a member of One 2 One Network, I was given the opportunity to review Norah Jones' new album ...Featuring
Norah Jones' new album was recorded from 2001 to 2010. Each song is a duet or collaboration from artists from many music genres. One of my favorite songs on the album is "Bull Rider" with Norah Jones and Sasha Dobson. You know the song: " Live fast, die young, bull rider.." I think it was originally done by Johnny Cash.
Another one I like on the album is "Creepin' In" with Norah Jones featuring Dolly Parton.
I have to admit. I wasn't sure what I would think about the album when i received it. I popped it into my cd player in my car and there it's been every since. I haven't wanted to take it out. Every time I get into the car it's playing. It's a nice mellow cd. Great to unwind from a day of work. There are also collabos and duet with: Willie Nelson, Outkast, Foo Fighters, Ray Charles and lots more.
There is a mix of many different sounds. You get a taste of blues, country, hip hop, pop, and classics.
If you're looking for a good stocking stuffer, this would be a good choice. It appeals to a span of generations.
Norah Jones' smooth voice is a great mesh with this award winning line up.

If I asked you to name a hip-hop artist from Pittsburgh, you might be hard-pressed to come up with a name. Now, how about a female hip-hop artist. Even harder, right?
Into the blank, you can insert: Kellee Maize. If you read through Kellee Maize's bio you find that she moved to Pittsburgh as a teen. Went to college at the University of Pittsburgh. Worked for a Pittsburgh paper and eventually became an Events and Promotions Director. Along with various personal life struggles she says she found an outlet through writing and music. She has also founded a socially conscience, female owned and operated company called "Nakturnal" that has turned into a leading marketing and events organization for the area. There is much more to this story. Read on here: Kellee's Bio. While you're there, explore her "archetypes" pictured throughout this post.
Now Kellee Maize is the #1 female hip hop artist on Amazon.com in the last month and has been in the top 10 on Amazon.com for 6 months! Try something for me will ya? Go to google.com and google "female rapper". See what comes up. Go ahead, I'll wait.....
What did you see? Kellee Maize right, as number 1? If you didn't, you didn't do the search. That's ok, I'm happy you trust me :-)
Kellee Maize's album Aligned Archetypes is a collection of music influenced with House, Reggae, R&B, Hip Hop, and more along with her strong female lyrics. Her spiritualism also spices her music.
You can download the entire album FREE on Amazon.com

I'm a fan of all types of music. Anything from rock, rap, country, whatever..throw it at me. I'm a fan of women musicians that actually have thought provoking lyrics and talent. When I say talent, I mean can write their own lyrics, can actually sing, and doesn't need to expose their bodies to sell records.
I have been a fan of KT Tunstall since I heard "Black Horse and The Cherry Tree". I got the album "Tiger Suit" in the mail today from One2One Network for review. I could barely wait to get the mailer open and pop it into my computer. The very first song on the album was an awesome intro to what was to come on the rest of the album. Her warm and somewhat soulful voice is distinct. The album in general is very energetic. KT calls this "Nature Techno". The sound changes up with the song "Golden Frames" which has a bluesy feel to it.
The first single off of this album is "Fade Like A Shadow". "Fade Like a Shadow" is already a Top 20 hit on the radio. You can check out snippets of some of the songs on KT Tunstall's website: http://www.kttunstall.com/
Just click the play button on the boom box on the right side of the website. My personal favorite song on the album? Hmm it's going to be hard to choose between "Uummannaq Song" and "Glamour Puss". OR maybe "Madame Trudeaux" um yea it's hard. You decide.
KT Tunstall's "Tiger Suit" Goes on sale Tuesday Oct. 5.
KT Tunstall will be touring this fall 10/31-12/1 2010. You can find tour dates and places here: http://www.kttunstall.com/gigs/
This is a great album that I think would appeal to many genres. This album is going to be great for drives home from work, cleaning, or even time on my treadmill. Very versatile and great sound.
