Dollywink Long Mascara Review + Dollywink Eyelash No.5 Real Nude
Hello~~~so I've bought a couple of things from pretty&cute.com and that includes the Dollywink Long Mascara and eyelashes No.5 Real Nude!!
I wish I was able to buy both the Long and Volume Mascara but I'm pretty close to being broke T^T!!
I've heard by layering both of them together, there will be beautiful results♥ Once I get my hands on the Volume mascara =] I promise I'll do another review using both of them together~~BUT...for now I only have the Dollywink Long Mascara, and that is the one I'll be reviewing today♥
First off, my lashes are pretty short because I cut them off in 10th grade =_=...I thought they would grow back longer but..NEVER HAPPENED!!!
No Mascara Lashes:
As you can see, I have no lashes >.>"
Wearing Dollywink Long Mascara (under view & front view):
I'm sure you can see the difference between no mascara & mascara~
My take on the Long Mascara is that it does lengthen as seen in photograph but of course it can't compare to wearing fake eyelashes. This mascara also doesn't budge without warm water. My normal waterproof makeup remover actually has a hard time removing this, while water easily rinses it off. The mascara also comes off in pieces just like Imju Fiberwig mascara. Another good thing is that this mascara doesn't really clump unless you layer it too much while it has already dried. I think if I were to use this with the volume mascara, maybe the results would have been better?
I wouldn't say this is my favorite mascara in the world, but the packaging is really adorable and it works pretty well for bottom lashes. I think it is very similar to the Fiberwig mascara but I haven't used that one for a long time so I'm not sure which one is better. The downside is that this mascara is a bit pricey but it is around the same price as the Fiberwig. I think I might go back to try the Fiberwig again, just to see which one is better~~
Moving on to the Dollywink Lashes~~
I've always wanted to try bottom lashes because it makes the eyes appear larger and these looked quite natural so I thought why not??
Sadly, when I wear these, I don't get why it looks so unnatural on me =[ They only look acceptable in photographs but in real life, I look FREAKY. It looks too harsh for an everyday look. I might try these again some time and maybe update this review, but for now I would probably only wear these if I'm looking for a dramatic makeup look or if I'm doing a photo shoot~~I wouldn't say that I don't recommend these because I have read such good reviews about these lashes from other people so I'm guessing it works differently for each person ^_^
Here is how it looked on me:
This was my first time wearing them so it looks a bit messy >_<~~
More reviews to come =D~~

Outfit of the day... I'm a cougar. Rarrrw.
I am loving this leopard shirt from H&M but I do feel slightly uncomfortable in it because it's bolder than I usually go for. I love the fabric and cut of it and I think it will go cute with a lot of things. I got this yesterday for around $29.
-Jeans are from Charlotte Russe "Opal Jeans". Not sure if these are flare or boot cut.
-Belt Target
-Watch Micheal Kors
-Necklace Lisa Taubes
-Nail polish Essie Turquoise and Caico
-We went out to a yummy middle eastern restaurant and I wore black BCBG boots {not pictured}

My son wanted to join in on the "fun". He was my shirtless cowboy today!:)
Finally! ELF Studio Contour brush- a small crease brush on the cheap
I have been casually searching for an inexpensive, small, preferably "pencil" type of crease brush for what seems to have been the longest time. I know Sigma has one along with Coastal Scents and other various online retailers, but it's hard to know exactly what they look like from a computer screen. This is why I was really hoping to find one in person so I could see what I was getting (and I have a hard time convincing myself to buy stuff online... a story for another day!). Well, it is like pretty darn difficult to find a large variety of brushes in stores that aren't as expensive as MAC. EcoTools is great, love them, but they don't have all the different types of brushes that I want. Sonia Kashuk has a crease brush that I own (it's pictured below), but it's not what I'm looking for. When I was shopping at Target a couple weeks ago, I stumbled across the ELF Studio Contour brush that has been patiently waiting in my online shopping cart for me to place an order. This is new, guys! And I was so excited to see it because I've been wanting to try it for the longest time, but was hesitant to order online. Long story short, I grabbed it right away.
Here are my thoughts on it!
Here are my thoughts on it!
(Left to right: ELF Studio Contour brush, ELF Eye Definer brush, Sonia Kashuk Crease brush)
From what I've used of it so far, this is the best crease brush I've been able to find and for the lowest price. It's $3, and I was able to find it at Target, so I saved myself the cost of shipping, yes!
Its small size makes it perfect for precise crease work and that "outer v" area of the eyelid. For comparison, I pictured it next to the ELF $1 Eye Definer brush and the Sonia Kashuk Crease brush. The Sonia Kashuk brush isn't a favorite of mine because of its roundness and larger size- it's almost too big for my crease. The Studio Contour brush is small enough so it places color exactly where I want it. It's also a little more pointed than the SK, which is really rounded.
In an ideal world, I'd have the Contour brush pointed like the MAC 219, but that's probably asking too much for $3! The 219 has been on my wishlist this past year for its precision and ability to apply color to the lower lashline. The ELF Contour brush is too rounded for the lower lashline, but it's still perfect for those of us with smaller creases or more deep-set eyes who just don't like doing too much in the crease (like me!).
The synthetic bristles are firm and dense, which allows for more control. They also pick up color well- I like to kind of "roll" the brush into my eyeshadows. I find this picks up color the best way.
I've also given it one quick wash, and no bristles came out.
If you've been looking for a nice, quality crease brush that's inexpensive, definitely take a look at your Target for this one! I'm really impressed so far.
Have you tried this ELF brush? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
