Book Review: The Dragon and The Turtle "Go on Safari" Contest linked

After the opportunity to review the first "The Dragon and The Turtle" book, my 2 oldest boys asked if there were anymore Dragon and Turtle books? I told them I wasn't sure if there would be anymore yet. Then I found out about "The Dragon and The Turtle Go on Safari" by Donita K. Paul and Evangeline Denmark from Blogging for Books review program.

My kids were eager to read the newest book. This is lovely because it's usually like pulling teeth to get them interested in a book.  I read it to them before bed last night.  All three (my toddler included) huddled around me to see the beautiful illustrations and the fun story.  The Dragon and The Turtle books are centered around being  a good friend.  There are also a couple other morales and lessons tucked away in the book.   They even offer questions and suggestions to interact with your child about the book once they heard the story.

The Dragon and The Turtle Go on Safari is a great story about how far your imagination can take you.  It also has those great little moments in there about being a true friend.

I think The Dragon and The Turtle Go on Safari would also make a great classroom book that could have a couple of project ideas centered around it.  This could also be a fun book to get your child's imagination going.

Book Review: The Dragon and the Turtle and link to contest

I had not heard of "The Dragon and the Turtle" books by Donita K. Paul and Evangeline Denmark, prior to this review. I thought it looked like it might e a cute book that the boys would enjoy.

The Dragon and the Turtle is a beautifully illustrated children's book about friendship. More specifically, about being a true friend. Dragon meets turtle as a stranger but goes above and beyond to help the turtle he met. This of course starts a wonderful friendship.

This story was a very nice story to read to my children. It gave them an idea of what being a true friend should be about. There were also another moral or two tucked into the story. There are questions in the back of the book that you can ask your children once you've read the story.

My boys enjoyed the story. The story itself engaged them. The illustrations kept them interested as well.

I believe this book is the first in a series of Dragon and turtle books. There is also "The Dragon and the Turtle Go on Safari". To go along with these books, Waterbrook Multnomah publishers is having a contests around these books to "send your child on safari".
